Dr. Maitrayee Roy is a pathologist with extensive training and expertise in histopathology with a special interest in oncopathology. She completed her MBBS from Manipal College of Medical Sciences in 2009 as the best outgoing student of her batch. She finished her MD in Pathology in 2013 from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum, Karnataka, wherein she was awarded the first rank and a gold medal from the University.
Post MD, in July 2013 she successfully competed for the senior residency entrance examination conducted by AIIMS and worked as a senior resident for 3 years in the Department of Pathology at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi from July 2013 till 2016. She was awarded the best senior resident in pathology at AIIMS and received the same from the Honorable Union Health Minister Shri J.P. Nadda in September 2016.
